The Maserati Gran Turismo S is much more expensive than models slightly less powerful, like a BMW M3 Coupe 420 hp (from € 73,500) or Jaguar XKR from 416 hp (from € 109,500) or more powerful than others, such as the Nissan GT-R 480 HP (€ 79,900). There is also the power of similar but considerably more expensive, as an Aston Martin DB9 of 456 hp (from € 183,509).
The Maserati Gran Turismo S engine is a 4.7-liter V8 with cylinder capacity of 439 HP, similar to that used by the Alfa 8C Competizione and Spider 8C, although the delivery more power (450 HP). The Gran Turismo, without "S", has a 4.2-liter V8 engine of 405 hp.
Like the Gran Turismo, the Maserati Gran Turismo S has the engine placed in front center position and the change is next to the rear axle. The changing gear is automatic and it has the ability to select gears manually from a command behind the wheel.
The brakes bearing the Maserati Gran Turismo S are a new type and are manufactured by Brembo. The characteristic of these brakes is that the inside (where it joins the rim) is aluminum and form a single piece with the part that rubs against the pills, which is cast iron.
